Painting the world around me
I'm Abigail Wilson, an artist with over 30 years of painting experience, living and working in the Northumberland countryside. Surrounded by moorland, farmland and the wild coastline of the North East, nature has always been my greatest source of inspiration.
From the foxes that cross the fields at dusk to the hares that race across open ground in spring, I find endless fascination in the animals and landscapes that make up the British countryside — and beyond.
How I work
Observation
Every piece begins with close observation — sketches, photographs and time spent outdoors watching how light falls on fur, feather and landscape.
Medium
I work primarily in oils, watercolour and pastel pencil, choosing the medium that best captures the character of the subject — oils for depth and texture, watercolour for softness and light, pastels for fine detail.
Finishing
Each original is signed, mounted and carefully packaged. Prints are produced as high-quality giclée editions on archival paper, also signed and mounted.
